That might be true, it still doesn't change the fact the DRM is stripping me of just about every right I might have as a legal buyer. DRM might be there because of the copiers, but if the legal purchasers would not accept DRM it would be gone quite quickly.

That's exactly why I would never buy any music that comes with DRM or at least without CD burning privileges (which is the same thing as not being protected in the first place). I am a big fan of Jeremy Soule and I would like to listen to his music on my stereo. DRM doesn't allow me to. No burning rights, no purchase.

Just to throw more fuel on the fire...
For as long as these DirectSong add-ons use DRM, I will never ever use them. DRM is just about the worst thing to ever happen to music, and I do not want to be a part of that.
Having said that, I tried the Sorrow's Furnace pack, and it made my game unplayable and I had to reinstall. gg DRM.

GW OST DS version has 4-5 bonus songs, Battle Pak I adds new music. Morrowind he remixed some of them to sound better and there higher quality then the mp3.

I do respect your view and you have every right to express it about not buying music with DRM. I do hate DRM, but with DS, I don't feel there that "evil" compared to other companies and there tech support has been great with me. I've had issue with DS in the past but been able to resolve them.
They give you burning rights for the OST, which then allow me to do what I want with them (just not the the "paks"). If they did not have burn rights on any of there products, I would not of bought from them.
I understand the chicken and the egg situation, no one buy DRM, it won't be used. At the same time far too many people accept it for this to work (imho).
Here's what I have to do so I'm not going to "loose my music" or other application that have "internet activation" that require me to use said program / or listen to music.
- Install Windows XP /w Service Pack 2 integrated in to the install disc
- Install All Windows Update / Security Updates
- Install All programs that require "Internet Activation" or any DRM music (I activate a permanent copy on my pc).
- Defrag Hard Drive
- Use Norton Ghost 2003 to make a complete backup of my hard drive (with it being current at the time and all program's activated, and any DRM music can be played).
- Back up Norton Ghost Image to my DVD-Burner and keep nice and safe.
- If I have to "redo" my machine, I just back up stuff, then restore my clean working image.
- Every major service pack I need to do over again and worry if I reactivate too many times will I get "tripped" for too many installs.
This is one of the many reason's why I hate DRM, I would not have to do this if I did not have any programs that required internet activation or DRM Music.
You have every right to express your view and you can choose to not buy it in protest, and I do understand your view but I do hate DRM.

Are you out of YOUR MIND?!
IF tracks were .10 a track(and a decent quality at that), P2P would dry up. There would be no real reason for DRM music or to enforce sharing. That would solve every music lover's problem.
But you see, the big name Record Companies are greedier than the Tobacco Industry. They would do ANYTHING to make people pay that extra buck. So that's why iTunes tracks are .99 for a measley 128kbps. AND THAT PRICE was set to RISE until they got busted for price fixing last month.
DRM does nothing great for the consumer.
HOWEVER, most of the DirectSong packs are Free to people who buy the game. Which is the only reason why I don't feel much of any anger torward them. Now when I have to start paying for the DRM music, that is when I get concerned.
